This is a personal project that I've been working on. It's the Stahl house in the Hollywood hills in Los Angeles, also known as Case House Study #22. Researching plans and photos available, I've tried to make this model as close to the actual house as possible including furnishings, textures and appliances from the mid 1960's.
The house was designed by architect Pierre Koenig and built in 1959. It was a commissioned work by Arts & Architecture magazine that challenged architects and designers of the time to design and build affordable housing and furnishings using the latest techniques, materials and design principles. The house is on the national register of historic places. Aside from being made originally famous by photographer Julius Shulman, it has appeared in numerous television commercials and movies.
